The Story Behind MPT Boat Co.
MPT Boat Co. was built from a lifetime on the water and a belief that adventure should be accessible to everyone.
I grew up in Northern Minnesota, where life revolved around lakes and rivers. If the weather allowed, my father had us on the water from sun-up to sun-down, seven days a week. We'd fish, explore, and learning what it meant to truly live outdoors. That foundation carried forward into my early years, leading me to become a wakeboard instructor, lifeguard, swimming instructor, and a Coast Guard-certified captain. Those roles that deepened both my respect for the water and my responsibility to those on it.
As I got older, those experiences expanded. Overnight trips down the Mississippi and Crow Wing Rivers with friends turned into something bigger. Moving west brought new water and new perspectives. I fell in love with the Yellowstone and Snake Rivers while living in Yellowstone National Park, and later discovering the raw beauty of the Middle and North Fork of the Flathead River near Glacier. Weekends became about gathering people together and getting out on the water: whitewater rafting, floating, and creating shared experiences.
I was always the one showing up hours early, inflating a flotilla of 25+ tubes and rafts to make sure everyone could be part of it.
That’s where the idea for MPT Boat Co. took shape.
After years of living this lifestyle, I went searching for a boat setup of my own and couldn’t believe the prices. That search led me to the source: the same manufacturers producing for many of the industry’s biggest brands.
After months of hands-on development and constant communication, our first designs were created. Boats built with real-world use in mind and inspired by the best. MPT Boat Co. exists to bridge the gap between quality and accessibility, making adventure accessible.
We build dependable boats and gear that perform in real conditions, without the inflated price point. This isn’t about trends or over-engineering. It’s about practical equipment, honest value, and making sure more people have the opportunity to experience what I was lucky enough to grow up with.
